FlightCode lists ICAO and IATA Codes for airports, aircraft types and airlines. It also lists the country codes/registration informations of an aircraft. You’ll find a link to the maps application for many of the listed airports. And you can mark everything you’ve seen (spotting function). Stay in touch with the developer by using the direct feedback and bring in your ideas to make this application better and better. Nice photographs draw a better picture of the topic. Enjoy flying and enjoy FlightCode!

For passengers:

You want to know where the nicely colored aircraft comes from? Look at the country codes of FlightCode. You want to look where on your route the fuel stop is, but you only have shortcuts on your tickets? Look at the IATA airport codes in FlightCode. You like to know what the shortcuts on your luggage labels tell you? Or you just want to look in the FlightCode database when you don’t have internet access during the flight?

For Pros:

You only have IATA Codes on your flight schedule and want to know what the new destination on that plan is? You got smaller airports on your route, on the left and on the right, and don’t want to consult the manual? The offline database of FlightCode can help. You recognize a callsign like “Yellow Flyer” in an aircraft radio call? Look up the ICAO Callsigns with FlightCode to know what Airline this is…

Reviews:

The following example shows how to use the ‘Single word filter’ in the list views of the ICAO airport codes.
Target airport is ‘White Sands Regional Airport’ in New Mexico:

Very nice application. Needs to update a number of the references, e.g. the Danish country code OY is listed as Greenland. Under 2-letter airline codes KL (for KLM) is not found and similar.

One nice feature (in future version) would be a liste with airlines and pictures of logo like this one http://www.cph.dk/cph/dk/main/foer+afrejse/flyselskaber.htm

Like that this application have all relevant data for airports listed also the 4 letter small national. Would like to have everything with airtravel in this application. Next versions could include overview of airports with gate numbers as well

  2. Hi Jan Bo,
thank you very much for your posted information. I’ll update the mentioned data soon. The information you provided is very important for a product like FlightCode because a single source is not enough to have the most recent data @every point in time. I’ll look what i can do regarding your other ideas (logos/gate numbers)… maybe i can dig up some info and implement it. Again, thank you for your nice post!

I have been using this application for a few weeks now and find it extremely useful, especially for decoding call signs.

One thing I did notice though is that the codes for Eva Air are missing, specifically IATA = BR, ICAO = EVA, and Call sign = EVA.

Can this be included in the next update please?

Thank you so much for the great work in producing this app – well worth the small price I paid for it!

  4. Hey Stuart,

i included EVA Air (Taiwan). It will be available with the next update. Thanks for your info and post :-)

I need an application that will decode a 4 letter ICAO airfield and give me some useful info on that airfield such as runway direction and length, hours of operation, crash cat. etc.
Does this app. provide such detail?

    Hello, a couple of questions:
How in-depth is the database, and where do you source the information?
How well are the Canadian airlines and airports covered?
    Thanks!

  7. Hey max, unfortunately this app does not contain enough information for your needs. However, i’ll have a look if i can find and include more data @some point in the future.

  8. Hey brad – the data you sent to me will be included in the next version. Thx again
